Pyecombe is a downland course at Clayton Hill in the South Downs National Park, designed by the iconic Scottish golfer and prolific architect James Braid and opened in 1894. Celebrated as one of Sussex's finest downland courses, it features steep hills, incredible views and changing lies shaped by slope and wind. In 2004 architect Donald Steel was brought in to audit the layout and recommend ongoing improvements
