Flackwell Heath is an undulating heathland course on the slopes above the M40 just east of High Wycombe, with level holes at the top and hillier ones on the lower ground. The original nine, designed by James Sherlock, opened in 1904 as the Wycombe and Bourne End Golf Club; John Turner's second nine followed in 1907. Harry Colt advised on alterations in the 1920s and F. W. Hawtree designed the present 15th and 16th in 1964. Long admired for its true, gently undulating greens
