West Linton Golf Club occupies high ground near the village of West Linton in the Scottish Borders, south of Edinburgh. James Braid designed the 18-hole course, which plays to par 69. The layout takes advantage of the moorland setting, typical of Borders courses of its era. Visitors will find the club accessible for societies and casual play, with a membership base drawn largely from the local area and surrounding Midlothian and Borders communities.
The club has maintained its character as a relatively straightforward moorland test, avoiding the severity of some neighbouring inland courses while retaining enough shape to demand respect from the tee. Its modest par reflects Braid's approach to the site rather than any lack of golfing interest.
