Seascale Golf Club operates an 18-hole links course in this small coastal town on the Cumbrian coast, south of Whitehaven. Designed by Willie Campbell and George Lowe, the course opened in 1893 and plays to a par of 71. The links terrain and seaside setting have characterised the layout for over 130 years, drawing players to this relatively quiet stretch of the north-west coast.
The club has remained a fixture of English links golf, offering an alternative to the better-known courses further north in Scotland or south in Lancashire and Cheshire. Its age and design pedigree reflect the period when seaside courses were being established across Britain, though Seascale has maintained a lower profile than many contemporaries.
