County Sligo Golf Club

Rosses Point · County Sligo · F91 Y974

Ireland

County Sligo Golf Club at Rosses Point opened its Championship Links course in 1894, designed by H.S. Colt. The 18-hole links stretches to par 71 and remains one of Ireland's longest-established courses. Colt's design takes advantage of the natural terrain of the Sligo coastline, with the layout presenting golfers with the characteristic challenges of links golf—wind exposure, firm turf, and strategic bunkering.

The club sits on the northwest coast between Sligo town and the Atlantic, within sight of Ben Bulben and Knocknarea mountains. Over a century of play has established County Sligo as a significant venue in Irish amateur golf, regularly hosting inter-provincial and national competitions. The course's age and Colt's reputation as one of golf's most influential architects lend it considerable standing among Irish clubs of similar pedigree.
