Bowring Park Golf Course

Liverpool · Merseyside · L36 4HD

England

Bowring Park Golf Course is a historic 18-hole parkland course in Huyton, near Liverpool, Merseyside, playing to a par of 68 across roughly 5,320 yards. Laid out on Roby Road, it holds a distinctive place in the game’s history as the oldest municipal golf course in England.

The course first opened as a nine-hole layout in 1913 and was extended to a full eighteen in 1934. The later construction of the M62 motorway bisected the land and briefly reduced it to nine holes, until additional ground to the south of the motorway was acquired in the 1980s to restore the eighteen-hole round played today. It remains open to the public, offering an accessible and walkable parkland test for golfers of all standards.
